Why yes, I was! And I still stick by that.
I don't like IE6 any better than the next guy, I just don't think it's such an evil that so many people are making it.
I am ALL FOR getting rid of it (and this is one small step toward that)
Unfortunately, I recently found out that this is only to customers that use 'Windows Server Update Services' to update their computers, which is really just corporations.

But it is a step, nonetheless, and hopefully by doing this, it will create a spark for people to upgrade to IE7 or some other modern browser.

IE7 is the greater of two evils at this point. It doesn't work smoothly with our proxy and consumes substantially more RAM on our servers.

*Why* do you need advanced browsing on a server?

I disagree. While IE7 is still very BAD, it is, in my opinion, FAR better than IE6.

The Past and the Future - Good Developments...

Firstly. the past, thanks to Notes from Phazm for the great news that Microsoft are now forcing upgrades to IE7 ........... Which brings me neatly on to the future, HTML 5 ..........
